Warehouse rebuild and factory refurbishment
On the 9th July 2003 the Colombier UK Ltd Management Team
issued a Press Release announcing that approval had been given
to start rebuilding the Phase 2 warehouse at its premises
in Sittingbourne, which was destroyed by the major fire suffered
in May 2003.
Since this time, building work over a surface area of 5088
m² has been progressing well and we are pleased to announce
that less than nine months since the fire started, construction
of the new warehouse is now complete (see photos) – a
remarkable feat by any standards! Once the finishing touches
have been finalised, the new warehouse will be ready to accept
paper during February. This process will coincide with the
gradual withdrawal from our third-party warehousing facilities
that have ensured disruption-free service to customers and
suppliers alike during the post-fire recovery period.Other
notable achievements during the past months include the replacement
of the entire roof section to the Phase 1 factory and office
building, refurbishment of the Phase 1 factory and machinery
plus complete redecoration of all office areas and the Boardroom.
Other improvements include “comfort cooling” being
fitted to all office areas, state-of-the-art audio-visual
equipment which has been fitted to the Boardroom and the creation
of a dedicated area within the new warehouse to locate the
mobile reel resizer.
The completed warehouse and improvements to the supporting
infrastructure herald a new and exciting phase in the growth
of Colombier UK Ltd, showing great bouncebackability and underlining
the company's commitment to continuing to provide its customers
with the very highest standards of paper sales and conversion
services.
